Samsung Galaxy S III, Note II will not get Android Lollipop in the UK
Samsung UK has announced that Galaxy S III and Note II won’t receive an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop in the United Kingdom. Samsung Mobile UK delivered the news via a reply to a follower on Twitter.

Android 5.1 for Moto X will roll out next week for both generations
As per a Google+ update by David Schuster, Senior Director of Software Product Management at Motorola, Android 5.1 soak testing is well under way for both handsets across a number of regions. Barring any major hiccups, full deployment should commence from next week, with users across dozens of markets set to reap the benefits.
Lenovo K3 Note launching in India on June 25
Lenovo has sent out press invites for the launch of K3 Note in India on June 25th. It was announced in China back in March earlier this year. The K3 Note packs a 5.5-inch 1080p display, is powered by 1.7GHz octa-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6752 processor, runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop), has a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It also has dual SIM support and 4G connectivity.It has the same aesthetics as Lenovo A6000 series.
LG G2 starts getting Lollipop update in India
LG confirmed that the Android Lollipop update for the G2 will arrive in India in Q2, and now it looks like the update has started hitting the device.
The update - which weighs in at around 750MB and carries a build number of LRX22G - brings Android 5.0.2 to the handset, which was released back in September 2013 and currently runs KitKat. What's worth mentioning here is that the update is only available via LG PC Suite.
This comes just days after the LG G2 Mini, which is a shrunk down version of the G2, started getting the update in Greece.

Cyanogen OS 12.1 update for Yureka and Yuphoria coming soon
The Yu Yureka and Yuphoria is expected get Cyanogen OS 12.1 update which is based on Android 5.1 , as the company has revealed that it is in the final phase of testing. The revelation was made by Yu CEO - Rahul Sharma.
Detailing the changes the update will bring along, Sharma said, "A very limited set of devices had issues with proximity sensor. We have addressed this now and will be providing patches which include the auto calibration of proximity sensor."
"We also have an updated firmware for the keyboard to improve typing and gestures. Additionally, the entire camera stack has been rebuilt with reworked camera tunings. This will greatly improve the camera to capture more details under various lighting conditions."
He also announced that the CyanogenMOD 12.1 nightlies for both the devices are now available.

Android 5.1.1 update rolling out for Korean LG G Flex 2
Android Lollipop 5.1.1, the latest available OS version, is now seeding for the LG G Flex 2, or at least for its Korean version, sporting model number F510S. That puts the G Flex 2 among a select group of less than 1% of Android devices that boot Google's latest.
The build, carrying internal designation F510S15b, is dated May 12, but is only now making its way to the device. As well as bringing the OS up to date, the new firmware is said to fix certain bugs, leading to improved performance.
Additionally, and that may be more readily noticeable, the Smart Bulletin and Smart Notice features have been disabled by default, again aiming for a performance boost. Naturally, you can re-enable both of them from the home screen and widgets settings respectively.
With the release already out, we should expect global models to follow in the coming weeks, though obviously no specific time frame is available.

Asus ZenPad press renders leaked ahead of official unveiling
Asus is going to unveil the new ZenPad-series of tablets at the upcoming Computex trade fair. While we don’t know much about these tablets, the first official-looking render of the Asus ZenPad (8-inch model likely) has been leaked online.
Published by Ausdroid, this render shows that that Asus is going with 4:3 display aspect ratio, at least in the 8-inch model, similar to what Samsung did in the recently launched Galaxy Tab A tablets.
In addition, the company is using a unique looking design pattern on the back. Seems like there are two layers, but it could be something else, and Asus is going with soft-touch plastic on one layer and faux-leather on the second. The design pattern also appeared in an Asus teaser recently.
You can also spot the two speakers on the front, microSD card slot on one edge, power button, volume rocker, Intel logo (suggesting an Atom processor) and the front/ rear cameras.
The specifications of the 8-inch ZenPad are unknown at this point, but the 7-inch model is expected to sport a 1024x600p display, Intel Atom X3 quad-core processor, 2MP primary camera, VGA secondary shooter, 3950 mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, 8/16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and Android 5.0.
Alleged live photos of Sony Lavender front panel leak out
Alleged live photos showcasing the front panel of the upcoming Sony Lavender mid-range smartphone made the rounds online. The handset is expected to make its official debut at some point next month.
The latest images fall in line with a leaked render of the device from last week. They are said to be taken from a production unit and confirm Sony Lavender’s bezel-less display setup.
The specs of Sony Lavender were rumored previously which include MediaTek MT6752 chipset with 1.7GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU, 2GB of RAM, 13MP Sony IMX214 sensor, 1080p display, and Android Lollipop. A 5MP front-facing camera with LED flash will grace the front of the device.
Xiaomi Mi 4i update aims to fixing overheating problems
The Xiaomi Mi 4i, which was made official last month, has received an update aimed at fixing overheating issues. Sized at 804MB, the update (V6.5.4.0 LXIMICD) optimizes thermal control algorithms to fix the problem, the company claims.
"We’ve heard from some Mi 4i users that their devices can get warm under strenuous conditions such as complex 3D gaming and benchmarking apps," said Jai Mani, product manager, Xiaomi. "To address these concerns, we’ve optimized our thermal control algorithms to better regulate the temperature. The new thermal controls adjust frequency, voltage and the number of cores in use depending on the chipset temperature."
Powered by a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 SoC with a quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and Adreno 405 GPU, the device is currently available for purchase in India, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia at a price of about 207$ (INR 12,999).
Samsung tablet with Intel Atom x5 chip, 4GB RAM spotted in benchmark
A Geekbench listing of a mysterious Samsung tablet codenamed CHOPIN-LTE made the rounds online. The slate houses a 64-bit Intel Atom x5-8500 chipset with 2.24 GHz quad-core CPU codenamed “Cherry Trail.” The silicon will utilize 14nm architecture.
The upcoming tablet features an Intel XMM 726x LTE modem alongside the Atom x5-Z8500 mobile chipset clocked at 2.24GHz and can drop to 1.44GHz . It packs a whopping 4GB of RAM and boots Android 5.1 Lollipop.For the record, intel Atom x5 Z8500 packs Intel Gen 8 graphics with 12EUs (Broadwell Gen),the GPU clocks from 200MHz to 600MHz.
Although the benchmark score seem low,the final hardware may be much higher in perfomance.

Asus delays Lollipop for Zenfone 4, 5, 6, Padfone S and Infinity 2
Asus seems to be struggling to update the Zenfone 4 / 5 / 6 generation to Android 5.0 Lollipop. There was one update firmware that pushed Zenfone 5 to Lollipop, but then there was also a downgrade firmware that brings it back down to KitKat.
The final update was set to mid-May release,but Asus has made official statement that the update is delayed because of some verification issues.Along with the Zenfone 4/5/6, the Padfone S update is also getting pushed back. Asus is working to resolve the issues and guarantee a solid user experience.
The Asus Padfone Infinity 2 (A86) Lollipop update has also been postponed, indefinitely for now. The company will provide updates based on the 4.4 KitKat. This is allegedly due to limitations of the phone's processor (really, Snapdragon 800 with 2GB RAM doesn’t cut it?...maybe qualcomm's support issues). It's not clear if and when the Infinity 2 will get Lollipop update.

Sony Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact and Z Ultra get a new firmware update
Two weeks ago Sony released a new firmware update for the Xperia Z2 and Z3 series. It kept the Android version at 5.0.2, but brought some needed fixes, features and killed some bugs. Today, this very same update is rolling out for the Xperia Z1 and Z1 Compact as well as the Z Ultra phablet.
Meizu M1 Note to be available on May 20 at Amazon India
As expected, Chinese smartphone maker Meizu on Monday revealed its India launch plans. The company announced that it will begin the sales of its M1 Note smartphone in the country on May 20. The phone will be available exclusively at e-retailer Amazon.
