Samsung Galaxy A8 goes official, Slimmest Samsung yet


Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy A8 for China. The A8 is 5.9mm thick, and as previously reported, features a 5.7-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, and comes in white, black, and gold. The A8 runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box.Even with the large display and 3050mah battery the phone is pretty light at 151 grams.

The Galaxy A8 has not been officially announced yet by Samsung, but has already been leaked in a video, showing off all its hardware and software specifications in detail. At a thickness of just 5.4 mm, the Galaxy A8 would be Samsung thinnest smartphone ever, but the sensor used in Galaxy S6 and Note 4 is about 6.5 mm thick so there have to be some changes associated with the new device.

The oft-leaked and much-rumored Oppo R7 will finally go official on May 20, and as we get ever closer to that date the Chinese company keeps revealing new details about it. Today’s focus (excuse the pun) is on the cameras.
