Xiaomi is prepping up for some new announcements on August 13,including Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 2, MIUI 7 and a collaboration with Redington for selling their devices in Stores. MIUI 7 will be based on Android 5.1 which will be a welcome upgrade considering MIUI 6 being stuck on Android 4.4.
The Redmi 2 Prime will feature an upgraded RAM of 2GB up from 1GB on the previous model and 16GB internal memory up from 8GB.rest of the specs remain same.We don't know the pricing of Redmi 2 Prime but expect it be around Rs 7500 range.
New reports have suggested that along with launch of MIUI 7 , Xiaomi will announce Redmi Note 2. Rumors point to Redmi Note 2 sporting a 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen, MediaTek MT6795 Helio X10 SoC, 13 MP rear camera, a 5 MP selfie cam, 2GB of RAM, and a 3,020 mAh battery.
Redington which is one of largest cellphone distributors in India. Xiaomi hopes that through collaboration with Redington, they will gain access to around 1000 to 1500 physical stores throughout 15 major cities, including Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mysore and Visakhapatnam.
They will start selling their current line-up of smartphones like Redmi 2, Redmi Note 4G, Mi 4i and Mi 4 with the same price in which they are selling online.
