iPhone 6 features a 4.7-inch Retina Display with 1334x750 resolution screen while iPhone 6s Plus features 5.5-inch Retina Display with Full-HD resolution, the resolution remains unchanged. Both phones use the new Apple A9 processor coupled with M9 motion procesor. The new processor also enables always-on voice activation of Siri. The new CPU coupled with 2GB of RAM. The camera has been upgraded from 8MP to 12MP but the pixel size has been downgraded from 1.5µm to 1.22µm which is notable. The iSight camera is also coupled with Dual-Tone Flash and OIS which is first on the smaller one. The fingerprint scanner Touch-ID has also been improved for faster unlocking.
The Apple A9 chip is really powerful with apple quoting 70% improvement in CPU perfomence and 90% increase in GPU perfomence over predecessor, though not much info is given about the cores or clock speed. The processor is made on FinFET process either on Samsung's 13nm tech or TSMC's 16nm technology.
The star feature of the new series is the 3D Touch tech. Which uses the pressure sensors to differentiate from a tap and a touch, so that different options can be shown according to the way we touch the display. For example, in the Mail app the a normal tap opens the mail while holding down on the mail preview the mail, this type of peek function is present throughout the OS. Though there is a question here weather they needed a pressure sensor for it and could have used time difference in touch to emulate it.
The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus is set to go on sale in September 25th, but India is not included that list but we can expect the release some weeks after Sept 25th.
