Sony Xperia Z5 series launched - World's 1st 4K Smartphone

Sony has announced their updated S-series of phones. It includes Z5 Premium, Z5 and the Z5 Compact. Sony was lagging behind competitors in their flagship phones. The specs were becoming not upto par with current flagships, but with Z5 they are killing every other flagships out there by bringing in Z5 Premium featuring World's 1st 4K display on a smartphone.

The Z5 Premium features a 5.5-inch 3840x2160 or 4K resolution Triluminous display with X-Reality tech, making it one of the highest pixel dense phone ever at 806ppi . The Z5 comes with 5.0-inch Full-HD display and Z5 Compact features a 4.6-inch Full-HD display.

The camera used in the Z5 is a new 1/2.3 - inch, 23MP camera from Sony Exmor RS, but the actual pixel count is 25MP. So Sony is using 23MP in 4:3 ratio and in 16:9 ratio the extra part of the sensor is used, unlike previous ones which cropped the 4:3 pics to 16:9 ratio which also reduces the pixel count. The optics used is Sony's G- Lens with an aperture of f/2.0 and the ISO range goes upto 12,800 for photos and 3,200 for Videos and it can focus in about 0.03 sec. The rear camera also shoots 4K. The front camera used is 5MP one with 25mm wide-angle lens which is from the Exmor R family.

The Z5 series of smartphones feature a Snapdragon 810 clocked at 2GH. Sony Z5 Premium and Z5 includes 3GB of RAM while the Z5 Compact features 2GB of RAM only. All the devices feature a fingerprint sensor integrated inside the power/lock  button which makes it easy to both secure and unlock the device faster. The battery on the Z5 Premium features a 3,430mAh battery to justify the 4K display while Z5 comes with a 2900mAh one and the Z5 Compact features a 2,700mAh battery. These feature 32GB of internal memory but can be expanded by Micro-SD card upto 200GB.

The devices also feature a premium DAC for High-Quality audio both through Headphones and the front firing speakers in the phones.Sony will be launching the Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 globally in October and Xperia Z5 Premium in November.
