Samsung announces Galaxy S6 edge+ and Note 5

Samsung has announced Galaxy S6 edge+ and Note 5 at Unpacked event in New York. Both have Samsung's new design language continued from Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. The Galaxy S6 edge+ is very much similar to it's smaller sibling Galaxy S6 edge in terms of specs and design

The galaxy S6 edge+ comes with 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display which curved on both sides like the edge. The increase in size is not felt in hand because of the curved sides and thin bezels. It is even thinner than the smaller version measuring at 6.9mm compared to 7.0mm of S6 edge. The only thing different other than the size is the battery which is now increased to 3000mAh from 2600mAh. Samsung has promised that the the increase in battery capacity will not affect the charging time and that it will charge as fast as S6 edge which is a relief. The processor powering both devices is the same Exynos 7420 which is the same CPU found in S6 and S6 edge. But the RAM has been bumped up from 3GB to 4GB LPDDR4 RAM which will result in better multitasking.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 comes with much of the same features and specs as S6 edge+ but renders the design language from Galaxy S6 and includes an improved stylus. The stylus is the highlight here, it features a click mechanism at the top so that it feels more like a natural pen than a stick. Also materials used in the stylus has also been improved by using metal instead of usual plastic build.

Samsung has also introduced a feature to stream video recorded from the phone's camera and upload it directly to YouTube which could be a hit or miss depending on where you live, cause if have 4G available in your area then the feature makes much sense but for others not much useful. Samsung Pay has also been introduced, bringing payments wirelessly with secure authentication by the fingerprint sensor.
