Sony has announced Alpha 7s II the worthy successor to Alpha 7s with 4k video recording at 30fps and improved low-light performance with ISO upto 409,600 all in a mirrorless Full-Frame Body. This move into improving low-light and High resolution video will definitely bring new customers to Sony.
The camera features mostly identical build but with improved Lens mount. The camera features a Full-Frame 12.2MP . The video modes include 4K recording (3,840 x 2,160) at 24 or 30fps , 1080p recording at 120fps. The 4K recording uses the whole sensor and not pixel binning and it also features S-Log3 which improves the dynamic range, which is present in only professional cameras like Arri.
The new model also includes 5-axis stabilization which is adopted from Alpha 7 II which removes the jitters even if the lens doesn't support IS. The sensor also features 169 point autofocus system for fast focusing when taking videos and photos. The image processor used is Sony's own BIONZ X which processes all the raw data. There is also a 5fps silent shooting mode.
The camera will be available at a price of $3854 or INR 2,55,000. Which is definitely in High-end category but people who want low-light performance with 4K recording, this is it.
