Mi Pad 2 and Redmi Note 3 now officially launched

Xiaomi has officially taken the wraps off the tablet Mi Pad 2 and the smartphone Redmi Note 3, both with new build, materials and specs. The Mi Pad 2 is the most notable as it now has a version featuring Microsoft Windows 10. A variant with Android is also available. This proves Windows 10 has been successful product for Microsoft.

There are three variants, one 16GB Android and two 64GB variants, one with Android and another with Windows 10. As expected with the change in OS, the processor used is Intel Atom X5 Z8500 64-bit processor which is coupled with Intel HD graphics GPU. The CPU is build on 14nm process, so the CPU should provide enough efficiency on a tablet. The RAM is a Dual-Channel 2GB LPDDR3 one which is rather low for a tablet nowadays.

The display is a 2048x1536 resolution 7.9-inch panel. The Mi Pad 2 also features a WiFi ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and USB Type-C. It also has a 6190mAh battery which is good considering it is an 8-inch tablet. The body has a aluminium unibody design with 6.95mm thickness and weighs just 322g. The Mi Pad 2 is priced at RMB 1299 or about $200 for the 64GB variants while the 16GB variant is available for RMB 999 or $156.
