Tesla launches Model X : Most Powerful All Electric SUV

Elon Musk the Founder and CEO of Tesla Motors unveiled the Model X, a Fully Electric SUV. The SUV is as powerful as Tesla's sedan the Model S and even matches the acceleration benchmark of 3.2 sec for 0-60mph run.

The Model X uses mostly the same platform as that of the Model S. It has two options the P90D (Performance version) and 90D. Both use Dual-Motor All Wheel Drive design and a 90kWh battery. The 90D uses two 259hp motors on the front and back while the P90D uses a 503hp motor on the back and 259hp motor on the front. The 90D can go from 0-60mph in 4.8sec while the P90D does that in 3.8 sec. The Ludicrous Speed Upgrade for the P90D will boost the acceleration time to 3.2 sec for 0-60mph run.

The Model X features a 3-Row seat for a total of 7 seats, there is also a choice to opt for 6 seater which doesn't have the middle seat in the second row. It also features a Falcon Wing Door. The windshield glass extends to the top, which makes the driver more immersive.

Tesla has also included a 'Bioweapon Defence mode' which is a large air filter unlike normal air filters of cars, this one is HEPA certified and is said filter out bacteria and other disease causing micro organisms. Even if we expect a bio war to not happen, the Model X should help those who are concerned. The Tesla Model X pricing is much higher than the sedan variant, with the Model S 90D costing $132,000 while the P90D costs $142,000 in US. The signature editions which was open for booking earlier will be sent to customers now and normal editions will be shipped in early 2016.
