HTC announces mid-range One A9, an iPhone 6/6s clone for $400

HTC always had a way with designing and building some excellent devices, but since they are a sinking ship they put their talent to making a phone with same craftsmanship into an iPhone clone. That's what HTC has done with the One A9.

Don't get me wrong it is not like other clones with cheap and plasticky finish. The One A9 is a solid smartphone featuring Aluminium unibody with Gorilla Glass 4 bonded to the sides much like iPhone 6. If you put one A9 and iPhone 6/6s side by side, the difference is little, but for a price tag of $399.99 in US, HTC is clearly making fun of iPhone.

It features an 5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, Snapdragon 617 processor with 4 cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and 4 cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.2 GHz. There are two options available, the 32GB variant has 3GB of RAM and the 16GB variant has 2GB of RAM. The camera is surprisingly a
good one given HTC's track record. The camera features a 13MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture , RAW capability and Hyperlapse mode. The camera is covered by a Sapphire glass cover for protection from scratches. The camera has a bulge much like iPhone 6/6s. The battery is 2150mAh one with Quick Charge 3.0 support for super fast charging. The front camera is the same front camera featured in One M9, i.e; the UltraPixel Camera, both feature 1080p video recording. The 24-bit, 192kHz by Hi-Fi DAC; dedicated headphone amp with Dolby Audio.

The bad news is the 16GB variant will only be the option available outside, US. Also the pricing also gets changed over time.
