Micromax today launched the Canvas Sliver 5, they call it the slimmest phone ever. The phone has just been unveiled now, in New Delhi. The handset is about 5.1 mm thin. The Sliver 5 is also the lightest phone ever just about 97 grams.
The Canvas 5 sports a 4.8-inch AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixels of resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone runs the latest Android 5.0.Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 coupled with 2GB RAM. It also comes with 16GB onboard storage which is expandable and dual SIM abilities have been given a miss. Obviously, the lightweight and sleekness comes at a price.Also the phone may not be the best screen-to-body ratio phones out there, as you can see there is large part of the body in the top and bottom area.
For photography enthusiast, the Micromax Canvas Sliver 5 offers an 8 megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX219 which is the front camera in Xiaomi Mi 4 and CMOS sensor and Blue glass filter. The phone also offers professional camera mode. In the front there is a 5 megapixel camera.
It will feature NXP Smart power amplifier and Dirac HD Sound. The connectivity options include 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Micromax Canvas Sliver 5 has a 2000 mAh battery Li-Po battery which Micromax claims offer 8 hours of talktime and 345 hours of standby.
The Canvas Sliver 5 is priced at Rs 17,999. As an introductory offer, the company will also be bundling Airtel’s double-data pack.
