Samsung showed us a glimpse of Gear S2, at the Samsung Unpacked event. They proudly presented the round beautiful display of the Smartwatch but no further details were released. Today, the Gear S2 along with another unannounced Gear S2 Classic has passed through FCC certification. Indicating it's launch at the IFA event in Berlin on September 3.
These smartwatches carry model numbers SM-R720 and the SM-R732 for Gear S2 and Classic respectively. Both will feature WiFi and Bluetooth.
Previous leaks have claimed that the Gear S2 will come with a 360x360 AMOLED touchscreen, an Exynos 3472 chipset, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, NFC, as well as a bunch of sensors including a heart rate monitor. It will run on Samsung's Tizen OS, though there may be an Android Wear edition in the future.
